History
More than a decade of excellence.
The Memphis Elite All-star squad was established in the fall of 1992, and hails as Memphis' first All-star cheer and dance program. The first dance team was created after the closing of Sky-View Academy, where coach Frankie Conklin had built a cheerleading dynasty which was amazing for such a small private school. The school closed as the cheerleaders were coming home from summer camp. The squad decided to stay together and pick up some new members and perform at local functions and try to compete somewhere.
The following year, a Jr. team cheer team was added. A new approach to cheerleading and dance had been created and it spread all over the country. Now All-star cheerleading and dance is the fastest growing aspect in the cheer/dance world. Memphis Elite now has several competitive teams representing the city and continues to grow.
